Keeping life and soul together - just
01.15.08 (6:36 pm)   [edit]

Where to start?

I loved him.

Love doesn't necessarily survive over eighteen years of disregard, disrespect, neglect, and lack of support, especially when it's unrequited.

I'd rather not dwell on how disappointed and sad I am.

What troubles me most right now is my financial future.  I've dedicated my time and energy to being here for my two children (read:  I haven't worked nor studied full time since 1989).

I'm stuck here until my son finishes highschool at least, which is three more years.

Thank God my savings could last a year, if I'm frugal.

I've been working two days a week lately, but the office b**** is making that unbearable.

I earn over 3x as much per hour in my own business, but being an introvert I find the task of building that up to amount to enough to live on daunting - plus working for myself there is no job security, especially if I'm ever injured or sick.

I've been through the humiliation of Centrelink (similar to Social Security).  The $$ they'll deign to fork out to me is a little over half what it will cost to feed the three of us & put petrol (gas) in the car (auto).  Don't ask me how I'm expected to pay the bills (eg 'utilities').  Oh, & they won't pay up until some time in April - because I have savings!  Luckily I still have a roof over my head, & a car to drive.

I can quite understand homelessness.  Most rents here are $300 a week or more.  "Newstart Allowance" is a little over half that!

I'm so sorry. Obviously, I understand the office bs and the problem with being an introvert. I have faith that you'll find a way to work it out and take care of yourself and your kids. Take care.

As difficult as it to have a broken heart, the financial issues are really the major problem you have to deal with now. I wish you well. Sorry you are dealing with this problem.
