Meme time
05.04.07 (12:58 am)   [edit]

I found this meme on "ramblings of a wasp goddess" today:

Are your parents married or divorced?
They have been married for 50 years!  Perhaps they deserve each other by now.  hehe

Do you believe in heaven?
Yes!  I think of it as a perfected gorgeous happy healthy version of Earth - but not only limited to Earth - where people who have loved us will meet us when we cross over.  (I wonder what happens to those who were unloved their whole lives?  I'm sure there would be plenty of love to go around in Heaven, however!)

Have you ever come close to dying?
Last time I had the coughing 'flu I could understand how people can die from it!  Actually I felt that I could have died during my first labour, too.

What jewellery do you wear 24/7?
A gold bracelet on each wrist, one is of coloured gemstones interspersed with dainty gold chain links.

Do you eat the stems of broccoli?
Yes, why waste that part?

Do you wear makeup?
Yes, I very rarely leave home without at least a little foundation & lipstick, but I almost always wear eyeliner & mascara too.

Would you ever have plastic surgery?
If it wasn't for the pain, risk of death under general anaesthesia,  & risk of deformity & ill health as a result, I'd be tempted to get breast implants, breast uplift,  & a tummy tuck &/or liposuction.

What do you wear to bed?
Something comfortable.

Have you ever done anything illegal?
Only accidentally briefly going over the speed limit, during a moment's inattention.  Oh, there was that time I was desperate to answer a call of nature & climbed through a friend's window to reach her bathroom, before she arrived home!

Can you roll your tongue?
Yes, but only partly, when it's arriving back in my mouth.

Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend?
I have a husband.

Do you believe in abortions?
I'm a softy, don't think I could bring myself to have one, even though I know how long & hard motherhood can seem, even with healthy beautiful lovable children.

What is your hair colour?
Dark brown naturally, dark auburn by design.

Future child’s name, boy and girl?
I won’t have anymore children, I expect, but I like Acacia for a girl & Jasper fo r a boy.

Do you smoke?
No.  I have never even had a puff of a cigarette, thank goodness.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be?
Tuscany.

Do you sleep with stuffed animals?
No.

If you won the lottery, what would you do first?
Apply for a passport - or hire a maid/chef/gardener.  Later I might build a luxurious cinema in town.

Gold or Silver?
Gold.

Hamburger or hot dog?
Hamburger made with real steak, fried onions, barbeque sauce, tomato slices, fresh crisp lettuce, a slice of cheese, & finely grated carrot, on a toasted sesame seed or poppy seed topped bun which has been buttered.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mangoes, or fish.

City, beach or country?
Not beach because of the risk of tidal waves.  I hate city traffic, noise, & pollution, but love to visit a few times a year to enjoy huge shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants, & art galleries.  I was raised on a farm, & I love space around me, birds, trees, clean air, the peaceful life.  Ideally I would live in the middle of two tree studded acres on a hill, in the middle of a small to medium sized town which had everything I needed, with river or lake views, with a large city within perhaps a two hour drive.

What was the last thing you touched?
Keyboard & mouse, before that, a white china mug (of cold water).

When’s the last time you cried?
I think it was in the last fortnight or so, can't remember exactly why, I probably had pmt & felt sad because I wasn't feeling as loved as I would like to be.

What colour are your pants?
Medium blue denim jeans, white cotton with lace panties.

Ever been involved with the police?
Yes, I  am occasionally kissed & hugged by a gorgeous member of the local constabulary.  You won't see me complaining ;-).

What’s your favourite shampoo/conditioner and soap?
Bain de Terre shampoo & conditioner, from my hairdresser.  Cashmere Bouquet Traditional soap because it smells good.

Do you talk in your sleep?
Yes, & kiss, too.  I seem to have an alter ego/subconscious who is quite a flirt!  My mother's mother used to dance & sing in her sleep when she was a child!  I've heard my daughter sing Advance Australia Fair (our national anthem) in her sleep. Until recently my son frequently walked to the toilet in his sleep, even washing his hands with soap afterwards, I trained him so well!  Maybe he still does, & I've just been sleeping through it.  In the past I've sometimes had to usher him, against his protests, towards the loo, goodness knows where he'd end up otherwise!

Ocean or pool?
I like to see both, but prefer to just walk on the beach, or just up to my ankles or calves in the ocean.

What’s your favourite song at the moment?
Mondo Bongo by Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros.

Have you ever had a cavity?
Yes, quite a few since first experiencing motherhood, & its accompanying sleep deprivation and stress and chronic fatigue, but not many in the last several years, due to improving health.

Window seat or aisle seats?
Window, but I hate being squished & confined in a small space, & having to bump past others' knees.

Ever met anyone famous?
Not in person.  I've heard back from artists and a writer online.  Actually, I spoke to Christopher Snode, an Olympic diving champion from England, & got his autograph for a 'friend', who didn't even believe me!  She was such a fan of his.  I've also seen Samantha Riley, an Australian swimming champion, at a local school, and Lisa Curry Kenny, iron man Grant Kenny's wife & a swimming champion in her own right, at a Sunshine Coast shopping centre with her children.

Do you feel that you’ve had a truly successful life?
No, although my children are my greatest successes.  There is so much more I would like to achieve.  My life has mainly been put on hold since having children, but in about 3 1/2 years' time, they'll both be finished highschool, so I'll have fewer responsibilities & demands on my time.

Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?
I cut it, but I usually cook with pasta spirals or other small pastas.

Are you self-conscious?
Yes, especially because I'm fat.

Have you ever ridden in an ambulance?
No.

Last gift you received?
A box of Cadbury Roses chocolates, shared with the whole family.

On what occasion did you receive your gift?
It was the anniversary of our first date.  I insist on celebrating every occasion; he thinks that's a drag and that I'm ridiculous.  I've informed him that if I don't receive a gift from him, I will afterwards buy myself something extravagant to cheer myself up.

Last thing you spent lots of money on?
Our daughters' evening gown for her Formal (Senior Prom).

Where do you live?
In central Queensland, Australia.

Last wedding attended?
I was only there, for the church ceremony,&nbs p;because our daughter was playing in the string quartet.

Favourite restaurant?
Ceylon Inn at Bulimba (Brisbane suburb) at the moment, or Siam Thai, Mooloolaba.

What is your favourite kind of car?
Jag XJ series, in British Racing Green, however I'd be interested in owning an electric car.

What’s your least favourite chore(s)?
I don't like any chores.  I particularly dislike cleaning baths.

Favourite drink?
Cold clean water, Maison sparkling grape juice (white), mango puree or Golden Circle apple & mango juice, which tastes just like mango puree, Mum's homemade ginger beer from my childhood, I loved it, especially when we opened a bottle which unbeknownst to us was from an older batch, & it practically exploded out of the bottle, & the cork hit the ceiling!

Your turn!

Excellent thinking on that plastic surgery thing. Besides, you're perfect just as you are. We all are. I can't believe you shared the chocolate and I think we should celebrate all big events.

My goodness, but that is a lot of information. I'm in agreement with living in the country as opposed to the city. I've never met anyone famous, other than a few notable preachers/pastors of my particular denomination- who would only be famous to us.
Interesting stuff, as always.
