Albino ladybeetle? - & Sweet & Sour Surprise!
03.20.07 (8:50 pm)   [edit]

We thought this was an albino ladybeetle, & I managed to get one half decent photo of it on macro:

An albino ladybeetle/ladybird?

Looking at those legs, & the unusual markings, rather than dots, I'm wondering if it really is an albino ladybird/ladybeetle?  ; Maybe it was just another kind of tiny beetle, which we've never seen before?

.......

Look what our 16 year old daughter prepared for our dinner tonight:

Sweet and Sour Chicken

Sweet and Sour Chicken!  It was rather tasty.  (That's pepper sprinkled over it, by the way.)

Interesting little beetle. We have red ones usually but we get orange ones which are called "Halloween Beetles" because that is the time of year they appear.

The dinner looks great. That is nice your dd created that and what a cool thing to do, take a picture of it before you dig in. Very pretty colors.

The beetle sort of reminds me of the movie "Starship Troopers" and that is the very first time I ever saw a sort of a greyish color which is somewhat unique.

Your daughter has a talent(s) for conjuring up new unique style(s) of making exotic foods. Bronwynj, you should send your daughter to a cooking school so that she can have her own version of televised down under cuisine style.

Did you find that beetle??? I used to look for ladybugs when I was a kid.
Dinner looked delicious :)

We have both red & orange lady beetles here in Australia. It was a special occasion, for her to cook a complete dinner for us, especially considering how busy she is in her last year of highschool, & preparing for her next music theory exam & eisteddfod (well, she's supposed to be).

StevO, the tiny beetle was more cream/very pale yellow than grey.
I wonder if she'd like to become a chef? At the moment she thinks she'd like to be a wedding planner.

My husband found the beetle, inside our house! He put it outside after its photo shoot.

Reply to Bronwynj, thanks, I stand corrected but my severe cataracts is getting in the way.

I got this gut hunch that she will eventually be into various cuisine, and might decided on being on a nutritionist, doctor (maybe?).

What a beautiful bug. (And I'm not usually all that fond of bugs.)

The food looks great...what a good daughter you have. Excellent plating skills. (I only know what that means because I watch Food TV.)

Yes, that beetle was a work of art, I reckon. I like bugs if I'm sure they won't bite me. Well, not all bugs, just the pretty or cute ones. (how lookist of me)

My daughter is an artist too, plus she's worked as a waitress/kitchen hand, so that might have helped her plating skills, thank-you. :-)

Actually, my mother taught me that when serving eg vegetables, to not put orange vegetables next to other orange vegetables, but to make a colourful array on the plate.

Speaking of vegetables, we have a great tv campaign here in Australia, which reminds us to have a minimum of two servings of fruit, & five servings of vegetables every day. What's the message in the US, something like that? I think it's a great preventative, for good health.

She has an uncle who is a doctor, & an uncle on the other side is a veterinarian, so it's possible (not saying it's not possible if there aren't medical professionals in the family already, of course), however one has to have a very high OP here in Australia to study medicine. A highschool student has to work very hard indeed to get marks high enough to become a doctor, in Australia. One wonders if it's worth the effort to abandon all else to contantly 'hit the books'? Our daughter has a life outside of highschool too, you see. She has studied music since she was four, & is a martial artist, & has a part time job, too - & a social life. So, we'll see! :-)

Once she graduates from medical schooling and while fresh on her mind, she should come here into the United States and challenges those course to get a medical license and work here and during her off duty hours, she can pursue other courses that interest here. One thing the United States educational environment has to offer that an individual(s) are never too old to learn and besides the pay is excellent especially in the medical fields and with some leisure time left over, etc.
