Portrait Commission!
01.11.07 (3:53 pm)   [edit]

This is my recently completed pastel portrait commission of a little girl who died decades ago (just telling you that in case you think the portrait looks somewhat 'dated'):

An animation of a commissioned portrait, showing the work in progress, and finally the completed portrait.

Wonderful! I wish I had a fraction of your talent! I would imagine she will be treasured for a long time.

Thank-you babe4jesus55. I think the main talent I used in this portrait is my talent for recognising faces and facial features. I hope she lasts as long as her family would like her to.

Thank-you Daniel. I used Mungyo pastels and Faber-Castell Pitt pastel pencils, on a grey (see the background) 12" x 16" Colourfix Plein Air painting board.

Well Mimi, the eight hours was just the physical work of applying pastel to the surface (& thank-you) :-).

Very nice job. What is the story behind the little girl? I hope the portrait provides the family with some solace.
