Am I a muse, a catalyst, or a
05.31.08 (5:12 pm) [edit]
I'm starting to wonder: am I a muse, a catalyst, or a female, PG (parental guidance recommended) rated version of "Good Luck Chuck"?! One visit from me and my childhood friend, single for four years (!) suddenly gets a girlfriend! One (well, a few ;-)) kiss(es) from me and pseudo goes back with a previous girlfriend! In case you haven't seen the movie "Good Luck Chuck" - well don't, if you're easily embarrassed or have children at home! It's full of the bonking (do you know what that really means?) of many naked women, bit of a surprise! It would have to be R rated in the US, I think. Anyhow, in GLC Chuck gets very 'lucky' indeed, because rumour has it that once a woman's been bonked by Chuck, her next boyfriend will marry her! (Remember: I said I was the PG version!) Guess what's asleep on my boots (which I'm wearing) right now?
Yes, it's the new member of our household, Sebastian the kitten, brought home free from our local Show by a teenager! Well, it was her boyfriend's idea, & he thought that his mother would look after him, but no. I'm not an animals-inside-the-house type of person, nor would I call myself a cat person. I love the birds which live here, too - but I'm a softie, & daughter was upset, didn't want him destroyed, which was the option if he wasn't given away! I'm looking forward to him being big enough to spend some time outside without supervision, & hopefully doing his business outside (he is so darn stinky!). A few species of birds congregated outside & yelled at him a couple of mornings ago, while he looked at them through the screen door! I think they were warning him not to even think of going out there! Sebastian's first reaction to Merlin (our black labrador) through the screen door was to arch his back, hiss, spit (!) & try to claw him! They have become more acquainted over the last couple of weeks, to the point that a couple of days back on a supervised visit to the big wide world, Merlin licked the bemused Sebastian all over! Merlin really wanted to play, but he's such a big heavy galumph that I had to pick Sebastian up & bring him to safety inside. I just wish Sebastian would stop with the crazy biting & scratching! I have bandaids on my legs! I know he's only practising, doesn't mean to be mean, but those claws can draw blood anyhow!

A Friday night out
05.11.08 (1:15 pm) [edit]
I went out Friday night, to a piano bar, to enjoy some live music, by candlelight. People at our two tables knew Pseudo. Most of our tables' occupants were employees from the local power station. At a neighbouring table was a local doctor, our two local veterinarians, & the undertaker (& their spouses)! hehe After just over one week of daily walking (I'm almost up to 40 minutes), I was able to wear this garnet ring for the first time (although maybe I just haven't been brave enough to try it previously, because it's so small):
It looked great with my outfit. Pseudo rang me last night. Maybe that was our last 'phone call?! I had to rush off the 'phone because I was in the middle of cooking dinner. I don't expect to hear from him today, because Monday - Wednesday he will be away with previous girlfriend, at a beautiful beach resort town, to see if they can get back together. :-( I was so surprised when he said to me on Friday shortly before he left here "I don't hold out much hope"! I have just been assuming that they will live happily ever after. We'll see. The bugbear with them has been that they live about a 2 hr 20 min drive away from each other, & she's high up in her career, with a child in the last year of highschool. Meanwhile, he'll possibly be leaving his place of employment some time in the next couple of months or so, & has to work out where he'll live, & what he'll do for a living, next. Where she lives is closer to where his young daughter lives, which is still a four hour drive from there. It's Mothers Day here today. I was treated to a late breakfast of a bacon & egg burger, courtesy of my daughter's boyfriend, & a white teapot to match my crockery from the children (which is what I wanted). Now my daughter's off having lunch with her boyfriend's mother & others, while my son is playing electric guitar. Oh, & he won his rugby league game yesterday, in a neighbouring city.

Painting: "Preston the Pirate"
05.09.08 (4:30 pm) [edit]
This one's for my nephew's bedroom wall:
"Preston the Pirate"
That's my nephew in the middle, with his parents either side. Great, now I have to type in the middle for some reason! Guess who I had the pleasure to see this morning? Here's a hint:
Yes! It was Pseudo! :-) He's lovely, even if he is again somewhat involved with his ex. Let's just see if that works out. If it doesn't, I'm there! hehe That is, if I don't get snapped up first by another eligible man. Actually, a couple of days ago I was told of an eligible local man by one friend, then last night another friend introduced me to another, & late last night yet another man sent me a 'kiss' on rsvp - so it's raining men! (I still like Pseudo the best, so far though.) Oh, & I had to stop myself from drooling when he casually mentioned in conversation today that he has enough equity not to work for seven years if he so chose! (Sorry if you don't understand, guys, it's a female thing.)

Almost famous?
05.08.08 (11:20 am) [edit]
Would you believe, I rang a new hairdressing salon just now to make an appointment, and the person who answered the 'phone guessed who I was by recognising my voice?! And she knew my daughter's name. Looking at their "grand opening" newspaper ad, I don't recognise her face nor name, & I don't recall ever having met her! I realise this is a small town, but this is remarkable! I wonder how many people recognise me as I do my shopping, because I have my photo (picture) on rsvp.com.au? Ah well, the things we do for love! On that first lunch date I mentioned in a previous post, you wouldn't believe the number of people who either spotted me (I saw their looks of recognition) or said "hello" to me while I was sitting with the new potential! It's like living in a fishbowl. I've been waiting to hear back from the ex that word reached him that I'd been seen out with a new man. Nothing yet, even though one of the people who know (friend of the pseudo boyfriend) works with the ex! Maybe I can breathe a sigh of relief, not that it's any of his business, just that I don't want him making any snide remarks to me about it. My first solo art exhibition is currently hanging in a local cafe! I've had two two person art exhibitions previously, & about ten group exhibitions.
